Susie again - and a sore throat

I've got a raging sore throat this evening, so instead of composing the post I was planning, I must go to bed as I have to sing tomorrow morning in church and am hoping that warm Ribena, strepsils, gargling salt water, paracetemol and a good night sleep will enable me to sing without too much pain.

Susie has some new things, and I have worked out what make of doll she is.  With that tantalising news, I bid you goodnight.  Hopefully tomorrow I shall be able to spend the time I can't tonight to tell you all about my sleuthing.

Singing is such a gift. I think it's fuuny, the father of my children was told in elementary school, "Everyone sing but Richard".
My children were in choirs and told as small children, if you forget the words mouth "Watermelon, watermelon". No one will know you aren't singing. So they were taught to maintain their poise.I bet you are too important to your choir to simply place hold. Hope you feel better C.

Sorry to hear you are not well. As a trained singer myself having attended Trinity College of Music in London many years ago - but opted later not to go into music teaching or singing and ended up in the civil service - boooo........I sympathise completely. I suffered laryngitis last year and still my voice is not back to full strength so you need to take it easy and don't strain your vocal chords at church today..........

thank you for your good wishes everyone. I have a habit of burning the candle at both ends and not taking care of myself whilst looking after everyone and everything else, and my tonsils flare up whenever this gets out of hand.

I did sing this morning because I was the only one on mezzo sop part for the anthem we sang for Candlemass. One of my singing friends gave me a fishermans friend at the start of the service and I didn't join in the hymns. Throat still sore, and I won't sing anymore now until it is better.
