Jenny and Lexie's Halloween party 2018

Jenny and Lexie invited their best friends for a Halloween party - the most important part of the party was the food! My Jenny and Lexie are joined by Heather Maciak's vinyl girls Annie and Emily, as well as my three Heidi Plusczok girls (Patsi - Anniversary, California and Florida).

What should we eat first?

It all looks so yummy - cakes, jam tarts, jelly, toffee apples, ring donuts, chocolate biscuits

I like toffee apples and chocolate (Lexie, Annie and Patsi)

Please pass the jam tarts

The miniature food is 1/12th scale and belongs in Mrs Harvey's cake, sweet and toy shop. The Sasha dolls uses the backdrop and Halloween decorations in their band at the Chat 'n Snap this year, however the small dolls wanted to join the fun too, hence their own little party.

Chat n Snap 2018 - part 1

This year the theme for the big display at the Chat 'n Snap was a Halloween Ball.  When this was first announced, soon after the Sasha Celebration Weekend in May, I asked if the ball needed a band, so Animal had another booking!

I had no time to make outfits for the additional members of the band, however fortunately a few years ago I had made some Halloween outfits for our bigger Gotz dolls and these were mostly fine on the Sasha dolls (cuffs turned up was the only adjustment I needed to make) as fancy dress costumes can be exaggerated sizing.  So 4 of our dolls joined the original band members Edmund (aka Animal) and Reuben (aka Louis Armstrong, but now Phantom) on stage for this gig.  Nicholas James became the bass guitar Wizard, Miranda the Acoustic guitar playing singer (with her microphone stand I'd made for the Gotz rockstars back in 2010), Davy the baby who joined our family at the 2017 Chat 'n Snap was a rattle playing ghost and Louisa the toddler played the maracas in the pumpkin outfit, which looked better on her than on the larger doll.

The backdrop for the band was green sequin fabric with some skeleton fabric (sent by Laura H) while the floor of the band stage was red sequin fabric.  I used our South African Vuvuzela as a stand for the band sign 'Animal's Halloween Band' and Lee M brought along the miniature pumpkin lights which we strung along the top of the backdrop.  I had also brought 3 small real pumpkins (we'll eat them), some toadstool with hedgehog tealights (not lit) and an orange lantern to enhance the display.  Animal was wearing silvery cobwebs in his wild hair.  Reuben wore a Phantom mask which my younger daughter made for him from a piece of felt, it was soaked in glued and shaped over a doll's face (the head was covered in clingfilm) to get the right shape, then the eyes cut out once the glue was dry and the mask stiff.

A Sasha Halloween

We don't 'do' Halloween in our family, though 5 years ago I did make some outfits for the Gotz dolls which they wore for an indoor picnic.  Today we've had a busy day away in London seeing the poppies around the Tower of London (breathtaking, especially with glorious blue skies and unseasonal warmth) and this evening my younger girl was tired and a bit sulky that we weren't taking her trick or treating (even though she knows we never do).  So I dug out the outfits and suggested she create a little scene for me to photograph.  It includes some of the items which Anne from Germany sent me last year in the Autumn pinafore swap.

Laura the pumpkin, Nicholas James the wizard,
Florence the witch, Reuben the ghost and baby Mabel as a baby ghost
So to everyone who celebrates Halloween, this is my daughter's greeting to you.

Autumn pinafore swap gifts received

The Autumn pinafore swap parcel from Anne in Germany arrived on Thursday, but it is only now, on Sunday evening, that I've finally found the time to take photos to share with you.

In addition to the pinafore set, Anne spoiled us with some lovely Halloween themed gifts which were greeted with delight by my younger girl.  Laura decided that she could wear the pinafore set first, as Miranda was still wearing the set which Anne didn't choose and Florence had just changed into the set I made as a complete copy of what I had sent to Anne.  So these photos show both the pinafore I received as well as a copy of the pinafore I sent.  Florence was delighted that the ribbon Anne used to tie around the clothes was a perfect colour match for her pinafore set.

Thank you Anne for such a lovely swap and all the additional goodies.  My girls have decided that as your Sasha and Gregor family are campaigning for bears that my needle had better get busy again...
